How to play
Night has fallen and the letters must arrive. As the messenger, race across lantern-lit rooftops, rainy bazaar streets and the snowy harbour; leap over barriers, slide under signs, climb on top of wagons. The shadow warden behind you is waiting for one mistake.
- 1The messenger runs on their own; you only switch lanes, jump or slide.
- 2Jump over low barriers and slide under high signs. Don't crash into the front of a wagon: climb on top using a ramp or a jump.
- 3A small bump makes you stumble and the shadow warden catches up; bump again while he is close and he catches you.
- 4Collect lantern dust. Powers like magnet, shield, ×2, flying carpet and super jump make the run easier.
- 5You always have three missions. Each completed mission raises your score multiplier by 1 for good (up to ×30).
- 6Spend dust in the shop on new characters, trail effects and longer-lasting powers. When you fall you can continue once with dust.

About Night Run
Night Run is an endless escape across three lanes, starring a courier who never stops running. Since the courier moves forward on their own, your job is all about timing: switching lanes at the right moment, hopping over low obstacles and sliding under high signboards. As the pace rises, the gap between those three simple moves shrinks to a split-second decision, and every extra second of a run becomes more valuable.
What sets it apart from a basic runner is the progression. You always carry three missions, and each one you finish permanently raises your score multiplier by one, up to thirty. The lantern dust you collect is spent in the shop on four extra characters, three trail effects and five-tier upgrades that make power-ups last longer. Magnet, shield, double points, flying carpet and super jump can each turn a run around when picked up at the right moment.
Lantern-lit rooftops, rain-soaked market streets and a snowy harbour each bring their own atmosphere. Your dust, purchases and best score are kept in this browser. It is a fine choice for players with quick reflexes who like short runs that feed a longer goal.
Strategy and tips
- Stay in the middle lane whenever you can; from there a single move takes you to either side, so it is the most flexible spot for surprises.
- After a stumble, play it safe while the shadow warden is close behind; a few clean seconds and it drops back again.
- Rather than dodging in front of wagons, run up the ramp onto their roofs, which also keeps you clear of ground obstacles.
- Read your missions at the start of a run and plan the next one around them; the multiplier is permanent, so each mission boosts every future score.
- Spend your first dust on power-up upgrades: a longer magnet and shield earn far more dust than a new character would.
- Save risky lane changes for while your shield is active, since it lets you shrug off one crash for free.
- Use the paid continue after a fall only when you are close to your record; after an early mistake it is wiser to keep the dust.
Frequently asked questions
- When does a run end?
- When the shadow warden catches you. A minor crash only makes you stumble, but a second one while the warden is close ends the run.
- Is my progress saved?
- Yes. Your lantern dust, unlocked characters, trails, upgrades and best score are stored in this browser.
- Does the score multiplier ever reset?
- No. The multiplier you build by completing missions is permanent and caps at thirty.
- How do I play on a phone?
- Swipe left or right to change lanes, swipe up to jump and swipe down to slide.
