How to play
On the branching road from the Misty Vale to the Sky Gate, every step is a choice: battle, event, market or campfire. Build your deck with the Iron Bard's shield or the Wind Seer's poison, collect charms, read your foes' intentions and break the seals held by the region bosses.
- 1Pick one of the glowing waypoints on the map; a boss waits at the end of each region.
- 2In battle you get 3 energy and 5 cards each turn. The gem on a card is its cost.
- 3The sign above an enemy is its next move: block when it will attack, strike when it opens up.
- 4Weakness, Fragile, Poison and Thorns turn the tide; hover or focus a card to see what it does.
- 5After a win, add one of 3 cards to your deck or skip. Spend amber at markets on cards and charms, or remove weak cards.
- 6Rest or upgrade a card at campfires. Your journey saves automatically, so you can continue later.

About Sigil Road
Sigil Road is a turn-based adventure that blends deck building with route planning. You decide where to step on the map, which card to play in battle and which rewards to take or turn down. Two journeys that start with identical cards end up with very different decks three regions later, purely because of the small choices made along the way.
The Iron Bard thrives on blocking and punishing counterattacks, while the Wind Seer stacks poison and melts enemies over time. Because the two heroes feel so different on the same map, every new journey teaches you something. Enemies show their next move in advance, which makes the game about planning rather than luck.
Each battle is a small puzzle: find the best order for five cards with three energy. Nothing rushes you, so it suits players who like to think things through, step away for a few minutes and pick the journey up again later.
Strategy and tips
- Do not add every card you are offered. Skipping a reward is often the strongest pick, because a lean deck draws your best cards more often.
- At markets, spend amber not only on new cards but also on removing weak starting cards. The difference becomes obvious after the first region.
- Check the sign above each enemy every turn. If a big hit is coming, pour all your energy into block; if the enemy is buffing or exposed, go all in on attack.
- With the Wind Seer, stack poison early so it keeps ticking while you spend energy on defence. With the Iron Bard, combine block with Thorns and counter strikes.
- A Fragile enemy gains less block and a Weakened one hits softer. Apply them right before the most dangerous foe's big move.
- When choosing a route, make sure at least one campfire sits before the region boss. Rest if you are low, or upgrade your most used card if you are healthy.
- When stuck, press up to highlight the suggested card. It is a quick way to learn why a particular play makes sense.
Frequently asked questions
- What if I stop in the middle of a journey?
- The journey saves itself at every step. Close the page, come back on the same browser and you continue from the waypoint you left.
- How many regions are there?
- Three, from the Misty Vale up to the Sky Gate. Break the seal held by each region's boss to move on; break the third and the journey ends in victory.
- Is the map the same every time?
- No. The branching road is generated anew for each journey, so the placement of battles, events, markets and campfires changes.
- Is it comfortable on a phone?
- Yes. Tap a card and then an enemy, or drag the card upward. The end turn button sits in the bottom right corner.
