Where do Aternos's limits begin?
Aternos's free model works by sharing resources and shutting down idle servers. That can be enough for a small, occasional server — but for a regular community you hit friction here:
- The server auto-stops when nobody is connected — every session means restarting and waiting.
- At peak hours you join a queue just to start the server.
- Resources are shared; you can experience lag as players or plugin load increase.
- It isn't a machine under your control; performance fluctuates with external factors.
What does ArcadeServers give you?
ArcadeServers runs on real, dedicated resources with full control in your hands. Highlights:
- Dedicated core allocation — you don't share the CPU with other servers.
- NVMe SSD storage for fast world loading and chunk generation.
- Hourly billing: pay only for the hours it runs, billing stops when you stop it.
- Prepaid wallet, no monthly contract — when the balance runs out the server sleeps safely and your world is archived.
- 9 server software options (Paper, Purpur, Fabric, NeoForge and more) — plugins or mods, your choice.
- Plugin & mod store for one-click installs.
- Automatic backups (File Protection) — one-click snapshots and restore.
- Java + Bedrock cross-play: join the same server from PC and phone.
- Advanced web panel: live console, file manager, player and backup management.
- EU (Germany) data center, low latency and DDoS protection.
Is migrating from Aternos hard?
No. Download your Aternos world and upload it via the file manager in the ArcadeServers panel; move your plugins and configuration the same way. The setup wizard guides you through four steps (package, software, version, world) and your server is typically ready in minutes.
What about the cost?
The hourly model isn't free, but it's often cheaper than you'd expect: you only pay for the hours the server is actually up. For a group that plays only in the evenings, that can be far less than a fixed monthly hosting fee. Small packages start at affordable hourly prices, and the price you see is shown live in the panel and store.
