Drift Track

Drift Track

Throw it sideways into the corner, light up the tires: rack up drift points, fire the nitro and pass five rivals on the final lap!

Racing · 1 player

How to play

From the harbor docks to a glacier pass, from a red canyon to a neon boulevard, eight tracks are waiting. Flick the handbrake into a corner, hold the slide and grow your multiplier; every drift fills your nitro tank. Beat five rivals over three laps and finish in the top three to unlock the next track. Spend your gold in the garage on new cars and engine, tire and nitro upgrades, then chase medals against your own ghost in time trial.

  1. 1Pick a track; set your car, paint and difficulty in the garage, then hit Race.
  2. 2Accelerate and steer. Hold the drift button in a corner: the rear slides out and drift points build up.
  3. 3The longer the slide, the bigger the multiplier (up to ×5). Hit a wall and that drift's points are lost.
  4. 4Drifting fills the nitro tank; fire it on a straight to pass your rivals.
  5. 5Finish three laps in the top three to earn gold and unlock the next track. In time trial, chase the medal times.

Keyboard

↑ or W: throttle · ↓ or S: brake/reverse · ← → or A D: steer · Space: drift (handbrake) · Shift or F: nitro · R: back on track. In the garage, ↑ ↓ picks a row, ← → changes it, Space confirms.

Touch screen

The throttle is held for you. Steer with the arrows on the left; on the right, hold DRIFT to slide, NITRO to boost and BRAKE to slow down. Stuck? ↺ puts you back on track.

Controller

On a controller the left stick or d-pad handles throttle, brake and steering: up accelerates, down brakes, left and right steer. Holding A pulls the handbrake for a drift, X fires nitro, and Start pauses the race.

About Drift Track

Drift Track is a top-down racer where the real skill lies less in raw speed and more in how you swing the back of the car through a corner. Every bend you enter sideways on the handbrake builds score, and the longer the slide lasts the higher the multiplier climbs, up to five times. Scrape a wall, though, and the whole drift in progress is wiped, so each corner becomes a small gamble.

The garage holds six cars, all with names made up for the game, ranging from a nimble hatchback and a rally body to a muscle car and a top-end supercar. Engine, tyres and nitro on each one can be upgraded through four levels, and pricier cars cost more to upgrade. Part of the gold you earn comes from your finishing position and part from the drift score collected along the way, so stylish slides still pay even when you finish near the back.

Easy, normal and hard change the pace of the rivals and the reward together: hard pays 35 percent more for a race, easy pays 20 percent less. Time trial has no opponents; instead you chase the ghost of your own best lap and three tiers of medal targets. It is a good fit for anyone who enjoys mastering car control in short, repeatable races.

Strategy and tips

  • Press drift on the way into a corner rather than at the apex; an early slide leaves you more time to straighten up on the exit.
  • To grow the multiplier, try holding a single slide across two bends. Switching direction without breaking the drift through linked turns scores the most.
  • If a wall is coming, end the drift yourself. Giving up a few points beats crashing and losing the entire slide.
  • Fire nitro at the start of long straights, not mid-corner. Boosting inside a bend throws the car wide and hands rivals an opening.
  • Spending your first upgrade money on tyres is often the most efficient choice; better grip makes exiting a drift and avoiding walls easier.
  • Try a new track in time trial first. Without rivals pressing you, you learn where the bends are, and a top-three race finish becomes much easier afterwards.
  • If you get stuck or spun round, do not waste seconds; the reset key drops the car back on the road and you carry on immediately.

Frequently asked questions

How do I unlock new tracks?
Finish a three-lap race in the top three on a track and the next one opens. There are eight tracks in total.
What is gold for?
It buys new cars in the garage and pays for engine, tyre and nitro upgrades. It is an in-game score unit with no link to real money.
Are my cars and records saved?
Yes. Your garage, chosen paint, race positions, best lap times and medals are stored in your browser's local storage.
How do I drive on a phone?
On a touchscreen the throttle is held for you. Steer with the arrows on the left and use the buttons on the right to drift, fire nitro or brake.
