Puzzle · 1 player
How to play
Nine rows, nine columns, nine boxes: each takes every digit from 1 to 9 exactly once. Every puzzle has a single solution and needs no guessing, only logic. Five levels from Very easy to Expert, pencil marks, limited hints and a daily puzzle that is the same for everyone help you grow your streak and unlock themes and achievements.
- 1Tap a cell or pick it with the arrow keys, then press a digit on the large keypad below.
- 2Every row, column and 3×3 box holds each digit 1-9 only once. A wrong digit turns red.
- 3Not sure? Turn on Notes and pencil in the candidates; when you place the right digit, matching notes in its row, column and box clear themselves.
- 4Stuck? Hint fills the selected cell (limited uses). The small number on each key shows how many of that digit are left.
- 5Solve the daily sudoku every day to grow your streak. Open the star button for themes, achievements and the optional 3-mistake limit.

About Sudoku
Sudoku is a pure logic puzzle that has travelled from pencil-and-paper newspaper corners to phone screens without losing any of its charm. In this version every grid is generated inside the game and checked so that it has exactly one solution. That means you never have to flip a coin: each digit can be placed for a reason you can explain. There is no arithmetic involved at all; the numbers simply act as nine distinct symbols.
Difficulty levels differ in how many givens the grid starts with and in the reasoning needed to finish it. A Very Easy puzzle opens with around forty-six digits already filled in, so most empty cells reveal themselves at a glance. At Expert the givens drop to about twenty-two, and progress depends on carefully eliminating candidates. Your hint allowance shrinks as well: five on Very Easy, four on Easy, three on Medium and Hard, and only two on Expert.
An unfinished puzzle is kept in this browser, so when you come back later your timer and pencil marks are exactly where you left them. Night, Paper and Emerald themes give you a calm surface to think on. Whether you want a five-minute warm-up with your morning coffee or a long evening wrestling with a single Expert grid, there is a level that fits.
Strategy and tips
- Start in the busiest row, column or box. Finding the two missing digits in a region that already holds seven is far quicker than guessing in an empty corner.
- Pick one digit and sweep the whole board with it: trace every row and column that already contains a 5, and any box left with a single possible cell for 5 can be filled straight away.
- If a cell has only one candidate, write it in; if a digit has only one possible cell within a region, write that too. Those two observations carry you through almost every puzzle up to Medium.
- On Hard and Expert grids, take notes early. When two cells in the same row are the only places for the same two candidates, you can erase those digits from the rest of that row.
- Watch the small counter on each number key. When only one copy of a digit remains, hunting down its last spot is often the shortest route forward.
- Save hints for the moment you are truly stuck. Clearing a Medium or harder puzzle without any hints unlocks its own achievement.
- Turning on the three-mistake limit trains patience: instead of typing a hunch, you learn to pencil it in first and confirm it later.
Frequently asked questions
- Is the daily sudoku the same for everyone?
- Yes. Everyone solves the same grid that day, and a new one arrives tomorrow. Solve it on consecutive days to grow your streak; skip a day and the streak starts again.
- Does a wrong digit end the puzzle?
- Not by default. A wrong digit is simply shown in red. If you switch on the three-mistake limit in the settings panel, the third wrong entry ends the puzzle.
- Is it comfortable on a phone?
- The number keys sit at the bottom of the screen as large buttons, with Undo, Erase, Notes and Hint right above them, so selecting a cell and entering a digit works well even one-handed.
- How do I unlock the themes?
- Night is available from the start. Paper unlocks after three solved puzzles, and Emerald after a three-day streak or ten solved puzzles in total.
